Uniden Cordless Phone
Hideo Fujimoto founded the Uniden company in nineteen sixty six. In the nineteen eighties Uniden became known
for its cordless phones. They also made satellite equipment; mobile radios advanced marine electronics and so on.
Now they are all over the world. Radio Shack brand telephones are mostly made by Uniden.
For years most people thought the Uniden cordless phone was a pile of junk. They just did not work like they
promised and many people just stopped buying them. Panasonic and Sony came into play, almost wiping out Uniden. But
with vast improvements through the years, Uniden is on the right track.
TCX 800 is one model in the line of Uniden cordless phones. It has one handset and a charging cradle. That’s it.
There is nothing fancy about this model but it does have some nice options. Some are a mute and hold button, three
way conferencing; it can transfer memory between handsets the list goes on.
Another nice Uniden cordless phone style is the TCX905, which can just about do everything you want in a phone.
This model is ideal if a new born baby or small children are around and you want to be sure they are safe. As well
as having the normal features it has a three line backlit LCD display, call transfer, intercom, twenty different
ringtones, and even personalized ringers.
TCX930 model of the Uniden cordless phone is as they say around the mid range line of cordless phones. It does
have some features that the more expensive phones have such as three hundred minutes of talk time, up to one
hundred and sixty eight hours of standby time. As well as a three way calling system, caller ID and a cordless
handset extension.
DECT2180-2 is a great model in the line of a Uniden cordless phone style. It comes with a digital answering
system and extra hand set. It also comes with a second hand held device, being able to put the main phone in the
office and the two others in other rooms.
Pricing of the Uniden cordless phone varies. They can start from twenty dollars up to around one hundred dollars
depending on what you want to go with it.
Cordless Phones are still readily available today and usually feature huge installed bases with ever decreasing
antenna sizes. The old style analog cordless phone was very susceptible to hacking and people snooping in on
your conversation. This happened quite a lot in suburban areas where the neighbors like to know everyone’s
business i.e. they were a little bit nosey.
Then along comes the Digital cordless phones that allow signals to be encrypted and transmit over a much larger
spectrum thus stopping people from listening in on your conversation. These are also immune from the static
interference that you could get on the old analog style cordless phones. All in all the digital cordless
phones absolutely pummel the analog phones outright.
